Gotta Do It! How to Chalk Chipboard and other Elements

The image instructions are pretty clear, but I'll explain a few things in words here.

To select the transparent area, use the wand selection tool.

Inverting the selection will cause the non-transparent area to be selected.

You need to contract (make smaller) the selection to keep the edges clean - this allows it to keep that "cut out" look

By working on a new layer, you can make changes without effecting the chipboard!

For a chalked look, you'll want to use an open soft brush and move around randomly. But, you can also use other types of brushes for a wonderful variety of looks! Dragging a paint texture brush will let it look like it was roughly painted! If you are doing letters, numbers, or frames, try using a flower or paint splatter brush!!!

The charm of chipboard is in the chipboard itself. So, add color... but don't just fill it in completely! Allow it to have a rough, hand done look.

For decoration, you can use other colors to paint/chalk with or you can even add elements on top. The apple could have been done in beads, buttons, or sequins!
