I hope it's ok to post this here. I'm hosting a shower for my little sister's first baby and am looking for fun games for everyone to play. She's already expressed that she does not want anything tactile (like guess the baby food flavor or guess the chocolate in a diaper games!) Any suggestions?

My mum hosted a baby shower for me for my first child Lara. we played:
- pass the parcel - we had things like teatowels, nice smelling soaps, potato peelers, lollies, a photo frame in the centre, etc. we told everyone the parcel was fragile so no-one threw it in fun
- how many pegs can you take off the clothes line one handed whilst holding a baby in the other arm ( we used dolls) - we strung up a clothes line inside with a rope and lined all the pegs up on it.
- guess the baby in the photo - this one is easier with less photos and if you give the list of names of the people in the photos. all people have to do is match the name to the photo
- guess the baby's *** and weight ( winner is the closest guess when baby is born)
- pin the dummy on the baby - you could draw a baby face on a piece of butchers paper. if you want to save paper and time only cut out one dummy for everyone to pin on and then reuse it each persons turn. Just make sure you write each persons name on the baby face picture with a marker where they stuck the dummy.
One we didn't do but is good fun is to use dolls and cloth nappies to see how many different styles of cloth nappy folding every one knows. i think there was about 7. Although i can't remember them all.
Another idea is put a Pearls of Wisdom book. You can use anything from just a school exercise book or a gorgeous note book. If you use an exercise book you could then digi scrap it later as a present. Encourage guests to write their own Pearls of Wisdom about their experiences as parents, things they couldn't have lived without eg burping cloths, bibs etc, advice for a new mum, basically anything they think that would help a new parent. The book could be a great resource for your sister.
Good luck. I hope she has a great baby shower and congrats to your sister on her first bub too.

oh and we also played a game where you had to draw a picture of the new bub without looking at the paper you are drawing on. get everyone to start at the same time. you end up with some funny looking babies! lol

I was going to suggest the clothes pin game - always fun!
Here's a couple others:
using ribbon or string... each person cuts off the length they think will fit around the "almost mommy's" belly - no numbers please! This only works on before birth showers
on a tray, place a dozen or so items that the new mom will need (diaper pins, baby powder, pacifier, etc.) and have everyone look at it for 3 minutes (or however long you want). After you hide the tray, everyone tries to list all the items.
Oh - another one. Baby animals. Have everyone make a list of as many baby animals as they can. This can be done two ways. 1) list the adult name, they provide baby names to match... cow, calf. or 2) both names are up to the attendees... this can make longer lists!
congrats and have fun!

word scrambles
diaper - piared
powder - derpwo
stuff like that ... a list of as many as you want and whoever gets done first wins ...
the baby food game without tasting ... pass around numbered jars with no labels and guesses are only based on color. No tasting.
There is a really cute "pacifier" you can make out of white life-savers (you pick the flavor - spearmint or peppermint are both white, I think), and either light blue or pink jellybeans. You glue the lifesavers together with a hot glue gun and glue the jellybean into the hole and then loop a string through the "handle" of the pacifier. I have a LO with Julia in it that shows one from my SIL's shower ...

Anyway, that was pinned onto shirts and if you crossed your legs you gave up your pacifier. Whoever had the most at the end of the party won a prize. (Everyone got to take a pacifier or two home at the end as a favor, however.)
There's a few ideas. :)

I threw a shower for a friend and got her mom to help me with a fun game. This would be really fun if maybe you could get dad to do something like this
About a half an hour into the shower, mom showed up (she was wearing a crazy outfit, which helped draw attention to her).
We had it set up where I would answer the door and she would say that she just needed to show her daughter a few things she had picked up for the baby. I told her that she was interupting the shower, and the shower was by invitation only and I didn't remember sending her one.
She said she knew she had one and just needed to find it, so she pushes her way past me and plops down in a chair setting her REALLY LARGE bag in front of her. She carefully unpacks the bag, mentioning the things that she is pulling out ("Oh hunny, I got some of that new tush ointment, you will need that for the baby", etc) After pulling out about 15 baby items, she finds an invitiation and hands it to me then puts everything else back in the bag.
Now the game begins, I handed out some sheets of paper and instruct the guests to list as many of the items that they can remember.
This was so fun, while some of the guests figured out that it was stages (many didn't) most still didn't get that it was going to be a memory game.
(BTW, mom got to stay for the rest of the shower - but if you can get dad to play along exclude the invitation part)

For my daughters shower, we pinned baby pins on each guest as they arrived, pointing out the lists around the room of a set of about 5 words they couldn't say (baby, bottle, pacifier, etc). If someone caught another saying one of the words, they got the pin. The person with the most pins at the end of the game got a prize (and mom-to-be got the baby pins)
We also had balloons with labels inside. As they arrived, they picked a balloon, blew it up and popped it. The label inside had some baby thing on it (suck your thumb, say mama, crawl on the floor, etc) Anytime someone said that persons name they had to do their baby action. If they didn't, they got their label removed, the last person with a label won a prize.
I also attended a shower where we played traditional (read: boring) games, but we did make a baby sock bouquet for the mom to take home.

I have been to a baby shower where they hand out empty bingo boards. The guests fill in the spots with what they think the mom to be will open.
You cross off the gifts she opens on your sheet. See who get bingo!
Its fun

Using a string, have each guest try to guess the size of her tummy. The one closest to the right length wins........
Diaper / clothes pins = everyone gets one to wear on their shirt. Try to avoid saying the word baby...if you say the word, you loose your pin to the person who got you to say it. The person with the most pins wins

I have one. Same kind of thing as if you cross your legs you loose the pin on your shirt that someone suggested. We made little cute ribbons for everyone to wear and if they said the word baby they lost their pin. It was fun. Good luck to you and Congrats to your sister on the baby!!
