I am new at all of this so this may sound like a really silly question with a really simple answer but I could use some help. I use PSP8, how do you crop a pic to the shape of a circle or any other shape for that matter.
TIA for any assitance you can offer :)

First be sure your pic is on a Raster layer (not background, if it's a .jpg). Click on your Selector tool; in the options drop-down, select Circle. You may need to try more than once to get the circle where you want it. Then: menu Selections > Invert Selection. Then hit the Delete key. Voila!

I never would have figured that out on my own...LOL. THANK YOU!!
Also, if you hold down Shift while making the circle, it makes it a perfect circle.

I just tried this in psp7 and it worked perfectly too. There is a patch for PSP7 which improves how it handles the transparency in png files. The patch is free from Corel.

I recently discovered another way!! (there's always more than one way to do anything in PSP!!!). After you've got your circle selection,go to Image > Crop to Selection (you skip a few steps this way!!)
