My computer came with (what I think is) Photoshop 7.0 Educational Version. It has a lot of great stuff, but is limited (I can't make one layer b&w and erase part to have the color show through, which is a feature that I LOVE). I'm thinking of buying another, but I'm not sure which one. I do have experience with Photoshop, but I know there are lots of others out there. What do you use? What do you recommend?
Thanks

You will get a lot of different opinions. Everyone likes their own program.

If you are just starting and don't want to invest in the full photoshop, photoshop elements is a good option. I have PSE 4 and I love it.

I use HP Scrapbook to do my layouts but edit and design in Photo Impact10

I picked up my brother's old copy...I had a choice between this and PaintShop but when I started researching digital scrapping...found more tutorials for PSE and Photoshop.

You should be able to do the cut work with Photoshop 7. Why don't you open it up and check to see just what it is that you have. I don't want you to buy something new if what you've got will meet your needs.

I use FotoFusion for my LOs and use photoshop cs for any cutwork or photo manipulation. I love FotoFusion for the speed and ease of creating the page. You can't erase images in it but there are many work arounds for other techniques.

www.fotoscraps.com had a bunch of tutorials and loads of great LOs that have been created with fotofusion

You can download a trial version of photoshop and photoshop elements to see which one you like. That way you can try before you buy. PSP also has a trial version. That will really help with your decision.
