Is there a way to use a paperclip in a LO but arrange it so that it looks as if the paper clip is actually holding a paper? When I was playing around with it, I can put the paperclip under a layer so that you can't see it, or over a layer so it's just laying on top, but I don't know how to make it look like it's really holding something.
Thanks :)

Ah...had the same problem when I started. *grin*
Place the paper clip where you would like it on the LO. Then use your eraser tool to erase the parts that should be under the page. I've found it easiest to magnify the LO to 100% and use smallish brush for the eraser. Do a little at a time and remember....the undo history is your friend! Have fun!

Thank you *so* much!! This makes a lot of sense . . . I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't figure that out for myself! It's all a learning curve, though, right? I'm so excited, thanks!!

As with most things in digi-scrapping, there's lots of ways to achieve the same result! :) Here's what I do -- I create a duplicate of the paperclip; link them together so they move as one; put your "paper" layers between the 2 clip layers and then erase the part of the top clip that you don't want (and you don't have to be real careful since you've got the other layer under it). This works better for me when I want to add a drop shadow or a bevel cuz then I can add it to the bottom clip layer (that's all still intact).
