I have been resizing my layouts to 600x600 before I upload them, but my file size is still too large, how do I save it at 600x600 and have my file size 150k and under??
After you resize it, and are ready to save as a JPEG, click on "Options" in the box where you save the file. It should give you the option to run the JPEG optimizer. If you adjust the number till it shows the file size is less than 150 kb, you will be good to go.

if you are compressing is should be around a 7.in jep at 600X600 gives you a little over 100mb
sorry was thinking in photoshop.

If you want to keep the resolution at around 300 ppi, then down-size your LO to either 500X500 or 450x450. Even if your res is 72 ppi and your LO is 600x600 you may still have a huge file (over 175 mb) so it takes a bit of playing around with the settings to get the right size.
It can be confusing, but after you've done it several times, it will be like sleep-walking :D

I normally always resize my files to 20% of the original 12x12 in size and most of the time that gets the file under 150. If not, I resize down to 18%. I'm using PSP X and the JPG optimizer is slow so I just resize the file down a little more, seems faster to me.
