View Full Version : How do you rotate a single layer?

I'm in the trial version of CS2 and can't get help to load....
I know how to rotate the WHOLE IMAGE and how to rotate a layer in PSP and PSE, but can't figure out how to do it in Photoshop...HELP!

Let's see. If you select the Move Tool (press V). Then, move to one of the corners of the layer you'll get the rotation cursor. If you press shift while you rotate, it will rotate at 15 degrees, 30 degrees, 45, etc

Have you tried Image--Rotate then chose from there?

Michelle, that rotates the whole image....I only want to rotate one layer....Thanks though. :O)

There is another way to do it and I just remembered how! :lol: Sorry I'm so slow!
Select the layer to rotate. Then to to Edit | Transform | Rotate
You can also flip layers here too which is pretty cool.

tara--try this--Image-rotate--then not in the first section but the second section of the window that opens, there is a section that says rotate layer 90 degrees, etc., this section rotates the LAYER only. 90 degrees, 180 degrees, flip ohorizontal and vertical, etc.
