Anyone know of a tutorial for making a staple? I'm using PSE4.
Thanks in advance
Not sure what look you are going for , but heres what I do. I open a new canvas, a coupel inches wide and an inch tall. Use the rounded square preset shape, and draw a line the size of a staple. Go to styles, and apply Wow Chrome, Shiny Edge.
Click the f next to the layer in the layers palette, and slide the shadow to 0, and the bevel somewhere around 7-10. Click ok. You can leave it like this if you like this look, otherwise do the following: Go to Bevel styles, and apply the scalloped edge one. Side the bevel size to around 20 and you are done.

in PSE I do the same as above - use the rounded square to produce a grey staple shape. Then I add noise and then a bevel to give me the stapl shape. THis gives you a mat staple rather than a shiny one. (please note I am not a designer - I just like mesing about trying to create things!)

thanks everyone. I did find a tutorial but also used your instructions and have made a few staples different metal colors. It was very easy.

Oh another fun element to try. How can I change the color if I don't want a grey one?

Replace the word "grey" in my instructions with "colour" and it should still work (I think!)

I just made the staple and used the metal style in the layers and styles pallet. make another on and use another metal style. It doesn't matter what color you make it the style over rides it. You could fill with yellow if your going to use gold.

Ok I've been playing around with making a staple and I can't get it to be any color other than grey. :( Can someone advise, please?
