July Avatar Challenge

Thank you for participating in last month's avatar challenge! You all did such a great job. I love seeing how every one's creative mind works so differently.

For this month's challenge, I would like to see one of the things you love about summer.

I love fresh fruits and vegetables and love to watch the garden grow. My favorite fruit is fresh raspberries. We just planted a raspberry bush this year, not sure how long before it bears fruit for us, but we will love it!

For the avatar challenge this month ...


... focus on one item that you love about summer and extract the image
... make a (mostly) monochromatic avatar.
... try to create depth with shadows.

Be sure to remember that your avatars need to be either 100 x 100 pixels or 19.5KB, which ever is smaller.

I created mine larger and reduced the size to fit the requirements before uploading.

One of the things I remember about summer growing up was lime sherbet. I'm not sure if it was available throughout the year like it is now, but I remember it as a special summer treat. So, here is my July avatar: Lime Sherbet:

Oh, wow! Love the way this turned out. Fabulous color! The lime behind is a perfect touch and the vantage point of the sherbet with the shadow really helps it pop. Great job!

I used fireworks. I know I didn't do all of the requirements, but I thought it looked neat. :)
