hmmm - don't think I can help. I use commercial digitizing software (it's the program that lets me create embroidery designs) along with conversion software (to change design formats) and simulation software (to make it look stitched on screen) in order to create mine! Not what most people would want to do - but for me it is the best way since I already have the designs created!

Hi there ladies !!
I'm a member at digiscrap designer and its WELL worth the $35 for the year !! I know how to make the patches from Tandika and of course can't reveal all her steps. I can give you basic ideas to work with though.
Basically you will want to create your own brushes to use for the "stitches". So if you don't already know how then you will want to read up on how to create your own brushes. You will need to change the brush settings to get them to work for what you need.
THEN... you will also want to create a layer style for the stitches to look real. You will need some texture to them and also some drop shadow settings. Hope that helps and gives you a direction. =)

Could you please tell me the name of this software you use to create embroidery elements?

I actually use several different digitizing programs. But, Compu-Stitch was the one I learned on.

Paula, so you use compu-stitch and then save it as (whatever LOL) and throw it into PS? Is CompuStitch something that works with a sewing machine? I AM INTRIGUED.. I do my embroidery in PS. thanks and great stuff :)!

shall i mention atomic cupcake? she's got some fab actions and one of them is embroidery. some of the time after running the actions, you will find stray pixels so some cleaning up afterwards is required ;)
