you'd probably need to use the Pen, in mode=freeform, on Vector; and draw your own spiral; start at the point you want your text to start. Add a new vector layer, select your text tool and when you get your cursor near the starting point, the cursor should change from a plain ole A to a tilted A-on-a-rocker. As you type, the text should flow along your vector line. If you want to leave your text as vector, you would need to hide the layer with the spiral; otherwise, convert your text to raster and kill the Line layer.

You can also see if you can find a preset shape that is a twirl. If you can, just apply the shape then hover the text cursor over the edges of the shape to get the same effect.

there are lots of spriral fonts, and dings! i would be happy to look through mine! i have more than i could use in a life time!

Did look for a spiral shape but so far, no luck

just a "warning" -- turns out the file only works in PSP-9 (maybe X), had to completely re-work it in PSP-7 so that TrulyBlessed could use it in 8 <duh!>

Thx for the heads up, Liz. It's ok, I use PSP9 anyway. :) It's funny that you should mention that. I have my "save" option defaulted to save for PSP 7-9 compatibility. I find that most people, especially in the PSP community, still used PSP7.

Well I guess you could do it manually in PSE, but man it would take forever...I suggest you use journaling genie and copy and paste into PSE....I would love PSE to do this since that is my program of choice....maybe in the next version?????

heee heee.... I just had to try this. Using the spiral or curvy text just isn't something I'm very acquainted with. I got it to work. I don't know how to share a file from my computer to these forums yet, or I'd share with you ;D Thanks for the instructions & sample spiral.

The preset I made doesn't work right. However, the download includes a .pspImage file with layers -- you just need to edit the text (using the Text tool), your own words, your own font, your own colour!

click on your Text Tool.
on your Layer Palette, click the little + beside the Vector layer;
double-click on the actual text layer...
this should pop-up the box with the text in it.
delete all that, type in your own stuff.
if you want: change font, change colour, change size... etc.

This is not a Preset Shape, it is simply a PSP image with two layers. The first Raster layer is flood-filled with white only so that you can see the Vector layer above. With the Vector layer, you can copy/edit/recolour/reshape to your heart's content since you won't be keeping this layer after you have applied your text. When you are ready to add your text, it's best to set justificatio to Left-aligned and click your mouse at the start of the spiral.
