May Brag Book Exchange

We are so very excited to bring you this month's Brag Book Exchange. For those new to this, everyone that signs up creates one quick 4x6 page and turns it in using the coordinating minis given for the month. After all have been turned in, then everyone will receive all the pages gathered up to create a fabulous album that will make scrapping a snap!

Once signed up, within 48 hours you will be contacted by PM here with a link to download the mini kits for this months exchange.
You will also be able to use the matching kits from the store with your minis to create the pages:

Then you create a 4x6 inch quick page that is ready for you to just slide a photo under.
*If you are unsure how to create a png image- Please ask, we are more than happy to help you!
Once you have created your page, upload your page to the gallery HERE, (http://www.gottapixel.net/gallery/g779-brag-book-exchanges.html) and then post link/preview in this thread. Deadline is May 29th for pages to be done.
Then email your page to sweetdigiscraps@gmail.com

(Please name it YOURNAME_MayBBPage.png) this will ensure you receive proper credit when it is used.


On the 1st a new brag book exchange will begin, and the pages that have been received will be gathered up and sent to everyone that sent one in.

For those needing help with instructions on making a brag book/quickpage, I found this post from Nancy(physioscrapper):

"I'm not sure what program you are working with... I use PSE... so what directions I give will also work with anything photoshop..... maybe it will work with yours?

One of the first things I do is start with a transparent layer at the bottom .... so I open my document to 4x6, 300 ppi, but transparent (not white or black). I then layer the papers on top. The transparent layer on the bottom may not be totally necessary but it helps me when I'm cutting out the holes for the picture at the end (I can see that it is transparent or a definite hole. :arrow: )


I make my page up entirely, and don't "cut" out the hole for the pictures until I am totally satisfied where everything will be placed.
I then take my lasso tool or my Marquee tool (it depends on the shape of my picture) and make the outline or "marching ants" outline of where the picture will be placed.

With this selection made, I then click on each of the different layers below it and delete the selection - all the way down to the bottom. So the hole is cut in all layers. Deselect once you've got to the bottom to get rid of your picture shape.

The next main thing, is to save as a .png file. If a box comes up that says Interlace..... "None" should be selected and click on okay. This will be the file that you send to Sweet Digi Scraps (Liz) at the email address above.

I also save my file as a .psd - just in case I have to go back to change anything on the layers, and then you have to save it for web size. As you can see by my page in the Bragbook gallery...it will look like a white box if saved in jpeg format for the web....the transparent box only shows up with .png files.

Hope this helps...and my directions are not clear as mud! :arrow: you can send me a private message for further directions if I am unclear, or ask here in the forum.

There is a way to do it, I just learned this not too long ago myself(she says sheepishly with a grin, LOL)

Got to your photo(either full or thumbnail), right click, click on "properties". When the pop up window opens, copy the "http address", then close out window. Come back to your post, and wherever you want the photo to show, click on the little "insert image" picture and paste that "http address" on that line. Make sure the "http" does not duplicate, only need one. You should them see your photo in your post!

There's another way that I find even quicker and easier --

Below your layout credit there is an area that has Keywords, Linked Thumbnail, Linked Image ...

Copy either the Linked Thumbnail info for a small image
or the Linked Image info for a large image

Then just paste that in your post. Don't click on any of the little icons -- just paste what you copied right in the message window.

This method even links your image to the gallery.

I'm sure learning lot with this exchange. I feel really .... about asking this question but here goes anyway...When I email my page to
sweetdigiscraps@gmail.com (sweetdigiscraps@gmail.com) what is a good size for the file to be? I was going to send a 3.3MB but thought that might be too big. Also what exactly is the best way to send it? just as an attachemnt?

Hey, Renee,
Yes you can send it as an attachment. When you are sending the BB page, just use your save as...(png), then keep it about a quality of 7-8 minimum...whatever size that determines your page to be will work fine as long as it started as a 4x6. You do not have to use the "Save for web" option for this, so it will work easiest.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have gathered up all the pages that have been emailed to me, and currently uploading the zip files.

Later on this evening- I will be emailing everyone (to the address that the pages were sent from) with the links to the pages. Everyone has done awesome!!!
