Challenge #3

My goodness, how time flies! We are all ready starting challenge #3! This challenge will run from today, December 6, through December 19th. Post a layout containing at least three colors from the color scheme, and post it to our very own gallery, located here:

Last time we used a mono color scheme. This time let’s attempt a color scheme that is a bit more interesting and FUN—a contrast color scheme.

Thank you Barbara.. :) ... This was definitely a challenge for me... these were not colors I am used to using... thanks for making me "stretch" out of my comfort zone!

Since I am here, I have a question... I am having difficulty resizing my LO's to fit the 150 kb requirement. I think I am doing something wrong. When I use kits and change the doc resoulution to 72 pixels and then the width and height to 600 pixels on my PSD format -- and then save that to a JPEG format at quality 7.. it puts me right where I need to be size wise. But... when I make my own bg's, elements, and etc and then try to save to JPEG (at 7 quality -- and I have even gone as low as 5!) I am way over the limit. Is there something I am not doing when I am creating my own bg's and elements that is making my files too large? I am finding I am unable to save my LO's at the same size I am saving already made kits. Does this make any sense?... lol! I've been trying all nite to upload a LO for one of the other challenges and I just can't get it to work. I have redone it 4 times!... grrr... lol!! Help if you can!

ScrapperFL -- I don't know if this will help you at all but check this thread -- somebody else was having some issues and I wrote up a little tut about how I resize and save layouts using pse3....

And I would also suggest to make sure to save your elements as .png (if using pse) so the bg is transparent. I don't save anything as .jpg (except backgrounds) til I'm done with my layout and have saved as .psd

Check it out and see if it helps or makes sense..... :)

Great layouts, y'all! I love to see how everyone used the colors--they ARE different, aren't they? I'm glad everyone has risen to the challenge--that's what makes this fun--doing something you didn't think you could do!
