View Full Version : What version ?
What version/s of Paint Shop Pro do you use ? I have 7 on my computer now. I used to have 7 and 8, but found out that I always reverted back to 7, so I took 8 off. I would love to try the newest version, but I believe you have to have higher than Win 98 SE, lol.

I used to have 8 and 9 on my puter but after I downloaded 9 back earlier this year, I moved all my movable stuff from 8 to 9 and took 8 off the puter. I love version 9. I thought about 10 but have only heard bad things about it so I am stickin with 9....it works well for me.

I'm using 9 now but I used 7 for years and loved it. only reason i got 9 was because I couldn't find 7 LOL
I'm thinking about upgrading to X but keeping 9 on as well just incase it doesn't work as well.
I do love that you can crop so easily with 9 thats a big time saver for sure

I've been using PSP since version 5. I'm using X now, and enjoying it. I still revert to v9 on occasion since I'm too lazy to move my plug-ins and presets over right now.

I have used psp 7-X. The only one I use now is 9. To me its flawless... Very rarely do I use 8 but it is still installed on my computer. Just in case I am working on something in v9 and I have a brilliant(lol)idea , i open 8 to put it all there as to not lose my place in what I am doing in 9.. I hope somebody can understand that...
I thought 8 was wayyyyy too slow, so Ive stuck with 7. Though I do wish I could still do scripts, lol.

I'm using PSP X now and really like it. I've had 6-10. I didn't like 8 at all, too slow. Nine wasn't much faster. 7 & 10 are probably my favorites.

I've had 7, 8 and now I'm on 9. I was thinking about upgrading too, but found out about needing above win 98 too, and on MY computer that's all I have. This is DH's, he's got 2000 nt, but I don't intend to keep using his as it is too S L O W and has almost no virtural memory and I have trouble making 8x8 layouts :(

I'm working in 9...bought it on sale from Jasc just before 10 came out...I like it...
I've heard that 10 is great for newbies as they've automated some things, but that it's not necessarily a good purchase for those that know their way around already....also, as Brenda said, it doesn't run on older versions of Windows.
I have versions 7, 8 and 9. I love vers 7 and use it a lot. I am trying to find my way around 8 and I think I have only opened 9 once or twice. I have some filters in 7 that I would loose if I got rid of that version, so I may have it forever. LOL. I really like the pattern making capabilities in vers. 8.

I just wanted to tell any beginners that the book called Scrapbooking The Digital Way by Michelle Shefveland is what got me started Digi Scrappin with PSP. It is written for 8 and 9 but I still use it with X just fine. I love it cause it really helped me get started using my program! It helps you figure out how to do a layout and even helps make some things yourself. I Highly recomend it to anyone who uses PSP!! Especially if you are still new at it. You can get it from Corel.

I'm having 10 now.
Thought 9 was slow! 10 is acting much faster than 9. Never really used 8 for digiscrapping.

I use psp 7 because I am more comfortable with it. I have 9 on the computer but since I barely know 7, it seems itimidating. I start out in 9 but usually give up and revert to 7...since i am trying to get my layouts done ;)

I always use psp 7 & 8 for everything not only Digital scrapping...
For fonts I use 8 because you can see a preview of the fonts I like that very much...
I love to get 9 but I'm so to 7 & 8 that I didn't get it yet...
Is 9 good?
And I saw somebody already has psp 10?
Wow I'm behind...hihihihih
Have a nice day!!

Hello,
I am running 8 and for the most part it is fine for what I use it for. I did try the free trial of 9 and was hooked! It was awesome and it was so hard to go back to 8, but alas I could not afford the upgrade.
Hmmm might have to look into 10!

I've had PSP since version 4 or 5 -- I don't even remember which. I still have 7, 9, and X -- finally took 7 off (but kept Animation Factory), and have 9 and X. I try to always use X so I can learn it better, but keep 9 if I need to do something faster (since I knew it better). But I will say, with X I had to upgrade my RAM memory to 1 gig -- crashed it twice with 512 meg. But I do love the new things they added to X, so I did my own upgrade (and it was EASY)
Would still love to find some tuts on X, especially on adjustment layers, and some more specific to scrapbooking with PSP X

Interesting thread. I've been using PSP since version 3.1 (back in the dark ages). And I'm currently using version 8. I miss some of the easy to use functions of previous versions and dread having to upgrade!

Sherry in AL, I had to chuckle when I read your post, because that is exactly what I do! Nothing worse than needing something in a hurry and remembering you just replaced your familiar version with a new & as yet untested version>
I own them all but use 7 and x. I am learning x and I like it.

I started with 7, then went to 8, tried a trial of 9, went back to 8 and have recently bought X. Like others have said, I tend to fall back to the version I'm most comfortable with which is 8. :)
I 'm a little concerned with one person's comment about needing more memory for X. I'll have to look into that before I install X. :-\

I'm using PSP X. I also have 8, but never really use it any more.
And yes, X is a little bit more of a resource hog. But, I've found a couple of features in it that I love and I deal with it being slow once in awhile.

I've been using PSP7 for years now and I still loved it! I had tons of plug-ins and many other things on it so I don't feel like upgrading to another version. i guess i'll stick to this version.
I also have Adobe Photoshop CS2, Photoshop 7, Photoshop Elements 4, and Photo Impact 10 on my computer. it's always nice to have some other programs just in case you need something that is not on PSP. I've been using Photoshop Elements mainly for slideshow!

I love my PSP9. I used to have 7 but found out that I could work 9 better. I believe I also have 8 on the computer, but I've never touched it yet! I would love to get X, but with doing so well on 9, I'd be afraid of getting it and being lost all over again!
