I use 2 lenses; 50mm 1.8 and 100mm macro 2.8. I have a zoom lens but never use it. So, with that said... I want to see photos from your favorite lens.

Hi Stacy, here's one of my favorite macro shot, a dandelion, using a 50mm 1.8 lens plus filter. Don't know what category in the gallery just uploaded in your project 52

Lorie, do you find you take more macro photos than anything else? I bought a telephotic lens a long time ago but hardly ever use it and 90% of my photos now come from the macro.

yes Stacy, love capturing the details with macro shots. I also use another lens for other shots like portrait and group shots. the 50mm 1.8 is good and not too expensive for a newbie like me :)

I have SO many favorite photos from my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. I'll limit it to a few few though. :)

I uploaded this one last night. I'm currently in the midst of a water droplet experiment... I actually have an incredible set up right now to get me the water droplets so now I just need to take the pictures!

Yup, me too! I have a camera that I thought was pretty fancy. I actually thought that I could buy different lenses for it, and then learned afterward that I couldn't. A DSLR is in my future. My husband gave me the go-ahead at Christmas time but I waited because I knew that the camera I would want would actually cost quite a bit more than he was realizing, and we still owed for our computer. It's a good thing I waited because we ended up with medical bills up the wahoo early this year, and it would have made things even more difficult financially.
It is still a major WANT of mine, though. :)

Here's the thing. One of my fellow camera club members has a higher grade point and click (Canon Powershot) that can not change lenses on.. and this guy rocks the camera. He's won awards and competitions with his photos and he is proof that it is not the camera that always makes the picture.. it's the person taking the photo. So... don't be disheartened by not having a camera where you can't change the lens!

wow! that's a wonderful photo water droplets Stacy, how I wish I could take a shot like that.
What lens you used with this shot? and your camera settings? (If you just want to share)
I also believe that whatever camera you have If you really have the passion for photography you can have beautiful photographs. :)

Thank you Lorie! I put the EXIF in with the pictures (the photography gallery now has those options). My aunt, who is a nurse, saved saline IV bags and sent me 2. They have a plug that you can take out and add water to the bag and because the tubing was still on it, it has the regulator so you can control how fast the drop comes out of the tube. So I suspend the tube above the where I want the water to drop and go. I'm still working on it all... I think I took about 400 photos with only a few actually turning out in a quality that I was okay with. It's a lot of experimenting!

I have gotten some pretty good shots from my Canon Powershot. Most of my concern with my camera comes with noise, as when I start working on them in Lightroom I discover much more of it than I would like. I assume that if I use the right settings on a DSLR I would be able to reduce the level of noise. Am I assuming correctly? I'll have to post some photos in the gallery.

OMG Stacy, that water drop photo is amazing!
Melinda, your photo is beautiful too! :)
I use a Panasonic FZ7 which is now 5 years old...which is pretty old in digi I think! I never use auto because I love the flexibility of changing the shutter speed and other settings. Noise is the main problem for me too.

I use my Tamron 18-270mm 3.5-6.3 on my Nikon D80. A few months ago I bought a 50mm prime but have yet to use it a lot. But from what I have used it I love.
