Lyrics Challenge 7/27/06 - 8/27/06

This month I picked a song that has a personal meaning to me. I have a stepfather that stepped up and became a father to my brother and I. and has been a better father than my real father. Now I am married to a wonderful man who has done the same. So this month, I chose the song "He Didnt have to Be" by Brad Paisley:

OH BRENDA...You picked a song CLOSE TO MY HEART!!! OH GOSH. I have the perfect pic for this. My dad is also my stepdad, he is My daddy, no matter what the biological part of me says. My real dad hasnt been there for me since i was 5. So this song fits my Dad, or step dad. Off to do a layout now!!

I find it totally amazing how history repeats itself. I am working on a layout, quite simple black and white for this challenge. My sister was 3 when she met my father. I came along 3 years later, then a younger sister and a younger brother.

Debbie, my oldest sister, also had a child before being married. Her father is well, you could say useless, she now has a father in Debbie's second husband.

Debbie was born before my mother was married as well. Dad was a sailor, so away from home alot of the times. Yes, Debbie and Dad had there share of arguements, but all in all, they deeply loved eachother. Dad was always there for all of us to the best of his ability.

He too, did not have a father image, and spent a few years in an orphanage before running away. His family was split up at a young age, a family of 6. Dad went sailing at 18.
My parents marriage was not what you'd call a "good" marriage. He was a caring, hard working provider, who did the best he could as a father. We all miss him terribly,

hmm i may have to try this challenge. i was a little young when i had my daughter , not married etc. of course the real father never stayed around. when my daughter was 6 months old... i got together with whom is my husband now. we had known each other many many years before we got married. anyway, he of course is my daughters stepfather. he is all my daughter has ever known. that is her daddy. my saying always is.. anyone can be a father or a mother.. but not just anyone can be a daddy/mommy!
my husband doesnt think of her as a stepdaughter. to him.. SHE IS HIS. what a wonderful man!
