Do you stay up to the wee hours of the morning to ring in the new year? Do you do anything special? :)

That sounds like fun Karen.

We are going to a friends house to play games and eat goodies. I'm really not a night person, so I'm sure I'll be struggling to stay awake. Then I'll sleep the day away on Sunday in an attempt to recover. haha

Oh, gosh, we're usually so boring! We "try" to stay up, but usually either give up and go to bed, or fall asleep on each other on the couch.

THIS year, however, we will be going to a family wedding. Yes, on New Year's Eve.

I guess I'm wierd or old-fashioned or something, but this just seems a little odd to me. Does it to y'all?

I've seen the trend for having wedding weekends growing--instead of just the wedding and a reception (all in one day), there is a huge dinner on Friday night--in lieu of what used to be an intimate rehearsal dinner. Everyone stays at the same hotel that night. Then Saturday, everyone gets up late and plays golf, or goes shopping or sightseeing, and then everyone takes an afternoon nap. The wedding generally starts around seven, then reception, or dinner and dancing till whenever. Sunday is brunch, and then everyone goes home.

Are y'all seeing the same kind of thing in your part of the world?

But this New Year's Eve wedding is kind of over the top--but, then, I can't be TOO much of a curmudgeon about it, either. A wedding SHOULD be a once in a lifetime event!
