Many of you have probably seen the cute mini scrapbooks that are made to look like "matchbook"s - well, that's what we are making this month! There are two styles you can make:
1) a stand alone mini scrapbook - perfect for gifts!
2) a tiny version that can be added to other scrapbook pages - great way to add a 3D element that "hides" extra pictures and journaling!
The size you make will depend on your needs. I'll give you the size requirements for a largish sized matchbook that is perfect for easy printing and sharing! These measurements work for printing the "pages" as 4x6 prints!
The overall cover size needs to be 9 1/2 inches long by 4 1/4 inches tall. This means it can be printed at home on cardstock or you can cut it from purchased cardstock or Mullberry paper. If you print it yourself, you can also print on the inside!
Wether you print the cover or use paper supplies - don't forget to decorate the outside cover! You can download this month's "kit" which includes a template for the cover

Each page inside of the matchbook should be cut to 4 3/8 inches wide by 4 inches tall (this is with the "spine" to the left - it can be rotated) - 1/2 inch at the left side will be covered when the book is put together, so you will have just over 4 inches by 4 inches for your scrapping!
This is a great size for having it printed at a photo studio or at home on your photo printer. However, if you print on cardstock, you can also print an all-over print on the back and use it for hand written journaling.
After printing out the pages and preparing the cover, you need to assemble the matchbook. Follow this diagram for how to fold the cover:

The edge can be stapled or you can use "real" brads to secure the pages. Make your choice based on the general style of the scrapbook.
If you want to make a tiny version - start by taking a piece of cardstock and fold it to the size and shape you want (this might take a few tries) using the same types of folds as shown in the diagram. After you get your sample made, write down the needed measurements and go from there!
