I like the photo much better now. Instead of blending into the background, it stands all on it's own, which is really what this layout needs. Though I really like the cursive writing, I'm thinking that I would love to see this with a more crisp font, most likely something that is all caps, and have it centered with the same width as the photo directly below the photo. :)
