    Rock Your Desktop July 2008

    Rock your Desktop

    Welcome to my desktopper challenge.
Are you tired of your computer background?
I love to create my own scrapped desktop backgrounds.
So every month I will give you a different challenge to rock your desktop and make it pretty for the new month.

A bit of info for first timers:

Everyone has different screen sizes, but the biggest difference is between wide screen and normal. If you choose a bigger screen size, your computer will resize it down to fit. Some regular screens (15-17 inches) are 1024×768. Mine is a bit bigger at 19 inches which is 1280×1024. Widescreen is 1280x800. If you have widescreen and you use the normal screen size, it will leave space on either side. If your image size is too small, your computer will enlarge it and it will pixelate.
You can also find your screen resolution by going into Start>Control Panel>Display Properties>Settings (if you have a pc)

or do a screen capture which will give you your screen dimensions at 72dpi which is perfectly fine for screen viewing.

This month's pointer - Don't forget to leave negative/blank space for your icons and taskbar down the bottom (if you have one) Its not much fun having your pretty stuff covered in a hail of colour clashing icons or having your gorgeous layout obsured by the taskbar

    This month's challenge is .....

    Colour your World

Over the past month I've been inspired by the fun bright colours of the Gotta Grab It palette and thought they would make a lovely backdrop for July.

Just use one/any/all of these colours in the creation of your desktopper layout.
If you get started quick you can take advantage of this week's Gotta Grab it Sale to pick up some fun goodies to work with for only a $1 a piece. You may have already picked up a few things from your favourite Gottapixel designer It is not compulsory to use Gotta Grab it products, but its an easy way to get started!

Here is my take on the colour challenge this month:

Credits: Cherie Shields - Neon Retro Paper, Flea Market Finds (paper), Borderline Floralie, Simply Frame Me - Dotty, Noosa Escape Extended Vacation (acrylic frame), Wordart stamp by Digital Reality.

Post your desktop layout to the Rock your desktop gallery before the 16th of July and you will recieve a $3 voucher to my store when the challenge is over.

Don't forget to post here too so we can all go take a peek and leave some love

I absolutely LOVE colorlovers! I have colour palettes that I've created there too. It's so easy to use and save them. It's interesting to see other people look and comment on palettes you create too.
