My Heroes...
Journaling:
When recommending a book to me, a fellow bibliophile said she remembered where she was when she read it for the first time. I understood what she meant. I still remember when I was in the eighth grade and we had to pick a book to read from the classroom shelf. I randomly picked The Scarlet Pimpernel. I read it three times before giving it back. Thus began my lifelong love affair with 19th Century heroes. Technically, Sir Percy was 18th but the ones that followed were 19th. I have read thousands of books and have fallen in love with many heroes but the few that have stayed with me are from the classics.
The swashbuckling Sir Percy from The Scarlet Pimpernel
The proud Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice
The dashing Captain Wentworth from Persuasion
The brooding John Thornton from North and South
