Growing up Johnson (page 2)
Journaling:
The Johnsons enjoyed the great outdoors... During the summer the kids would spend a lot of
their time at the Toepfer farm, helping to pick strawberries, cut and stack wood, and other
chores around the farm. For doing all these chores they were able to earn money to buy their
own school clothes. They loved spending time there with their grandparents and their cousins
who were there too. When the weekend came, Jim and Elvina would pick them up and take them
camping. Jim and Elvina stayed in their camper, and the kids got to sleep in a tent. They had
a great time, and they all still love to camp to this day...
