During our last visit to Jasper National Park we were fortunate to see 3 bears (all from the safety of our car)! During July and Aug. the red buffalo berries are very plentiful in lower moutain area, in fact the picture of the berries was taken just outside our motorhome in the campground. It is so neat to see these amazing animals live in the wild.

As the bears start to feed up for hibernation, they have been known to consume up to 2500 berries in one day! This one found a feast just off the highway! Aug. 15, 2011
