JOURNALING: On background paper: An 8.5 million dollar renovation finished in 2006 completely changed the way the school looks. On notepaper: My old school, from kindergarten through 6th grade. No "middle school" back then. My favorite teacher? Hands down it was Mr. Altman, my 6th grade teacher, the only male one in the school. He was a big kid and everyone loved him. I was traumatized in K by being made the object of a guessing game (which twin is which). Most people want to fit in. They don't want to be made to feel they are somehow "different." Old scars last a long time.
