JOURNALING: "Gus was America's 2nd man in space, in Liberty Bell 7 in 1961. He nearly drowned after splashdown when the hatch blew off the capsule and a helicopter tried to rescue it while Gus' flightsuit slowly filled with water. In 1964, he became the 1st man to fly twice in space when he commanded Gemini 3. He had wanted to call her "Molly Brown" (as in The Unsinkable...", but NASA said no. When the pilots came up with "Titantic" NASA gave in and called her Molly Brown. Gus was set to command Apollo 1 in 1967. On 1/27/67, he, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee were killed when the capsule caught fire on the launchpad during training - America's first space tragedy.
If we die, we want people to accept it. We are in a risky business and we hope that if anything happens to us, it will not delay the program. The conquest of space is worth the risk of life.
      Virgil Ivan (Gus) Grissom"
I took the base page and the beaded wire for my layout. I recolored the "G" to match the page, and recolored the tag also. I changed the middle part of the tag to velum.

Wonderful tribute and thanks for the journaling as a reminder of the first tragedy. I like what you did with the tag and recolored "G".
