I never really realised until I got out old photo albums, recipe books etc, that I have always scrapped. I can remember as a child a Golden Book titled Rainy Day Play Book, anyone who has read it will know what I am talking about when I say I got a lot of ideas from this little book.

I started Digital scrapping about 4 years ago, mainly to save money by being able to create and print out items for my traditional books. I am endeavouring to make one for each grandchild to give to them when they turn 21.

I now digitally scrap and alter photos for these albums.

The saddest Album I was asked to scrap was as a Memorial for my Grandson who was sadly still born. I created special digital pages with the photos they took at his birth and the album cherished by my daughter and her husband.

So I suppose I scrap to record moments that become our lives, to ensure people remember, as a great hobby and as an outlet to my creativity, sometimes I just don’t have the time to do traditional scrapbooking, sketching, needlework and then I use the digital form to fill that void.

But most of all I scrap for me time, love doing it when no-one is home, late at night when all is quiet and it is just me, sshhh listen can you hear the silence!
