Journaling:
Allen’s first year at F.I.S. started out pretty good. He liked his teacher and had some friends from the previous year in his class and had just started playing baseball for a great coach (Mark). Unfortunately, about two weeks into school, while I was at the Teacher’s open house parent meeting and a sitter was with him, he decided to jump in his bed, fell off, landed on the toy box and broke his arm. It was just a hairline fracture, but it had to be casted anyway. He missed almost the entire baseball season and even though I’m sure he got some sympathy points at school, it hindered him from playing on the playground like he would have liked to. And, it was his left hand so it didn’t affect his ability to get his work done. All in all, I’d say he would wish he hadn’t jumped in his bed that night.
