The Magic Marker Story

Please no flames for sharing this story ... we do look back and thankfully can laugh about this event! (that happened in 2004) Journaling states:

First time dads (and moms) have lots to learn about how closely they need to watch their children.

My husband (and I) learned this the hard way when Blake was 22 months old. Dad was home with Blake and Julia while Mom was working.

Dad got engrossed in a video game and didn’t notice that Blake was being TOO quiet until it was already too late!

Blake had found a Sharpie (permanent marker)and gone to town in our rented apartment’s kitchen! Our security deposit flashed before our eyes!

Thank you Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and a couple other cleaners for saving our deposit!! Dad learned his lesson, don’t you think?

And so a lesson is learned. Gotta love those Magic Erasers. This is super cute Melinda. I am sure it was not quite as cute at the time. It is good to be able to look back at something like this.

Love your journaling, you are so lucky it came off the cupboards and floor. Love that you thought to take pictures of all the artwork.

I think I too would have been taking all those pics too, to make sure I calmed down first! Funny now I bet, but not at the time! (similar experience here too - freshly painted white outside walls "painted" by the boys with MOSS - doesn#t come off - had to be repainted!)

GREAT layout, love your journalling and all of the many photos!
