I made this page when I first started scrapbooking a couple weeks ago. I'm just not really pleased with it. It was for a challenge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Nice pictures and a pleasant arrangment. It could use a few small shadows (to give it depth) and something to balance with the eggs element - maybe a tiny bit of journalling at the top.
All it all - a very nice first page! Shadows are the first thing that must of us had to learn! LOL
Cute photos and paper choice! Great job on one of your 1st layouts!
I put paper mats behind my photos really often! Gives me a chance to add more paper I love, and really helps frame the photo. Another thing I do if I'm not happy with the arrangement of the photos is tilt them a little bit. You can rotate you mat the same angle or just a little off so all the corners peek out. Then add your shadows and you'll be done!
I agree with Paula about balancing the eggs. If you think about the title frame and the eggs as two sides of a triangle. you can place one more fun embellishment in another spot to complete the visually appealing triangle.
I would suggest only matting the focal photo. It will help solidify your theme when you draw the viewers eye into one area. They will then move outwards to the other elements.
I like your use of free space with the yellow paper. Gives the eye a 'resting place'.
Shadows? What program do you use? In photoshop the box to the right which shows you your different layers. Make sure you are on the layer you want, go to the bottom of that box and click on the little circle with an f in it. Then click on drop shadow. It brings up another box for you to pick where the light comes from, how much shadowing you want, etc.
The only other thing would be if you do any journaling, even something short, put ages, location and names. Someday someone else may want to know and the info won't be available! "How quickly we forget things!"
I agree with the comments made already. I would love to see some journaling about the photo shoot. Having two kids, there must be some story about how likely they were to look at the camera or how you had to work to keep them clean . . . things like that. That's my favorite part about scrapping.
