They had nine children: Olen, Jessie, Ailene, Damon, Loran, Loretta, Howard and Edward.
Jess and Bess were 3rd cousins; common ancestors were through the Skaggs family.
Both Jess and Bess are 5th cousins of Elvis Phelps Sr. They both are 5th cousins 1 time
removed to Pansy Brooks Phelps. They are also 4th cousins to Noretta Stewart Kiper,
and their son Damon married Evelyn Kiper, the sister of Noretta's husband, Donald
