Journaling: I wish I had been a fly on the wall as Abraham shopped for our gifts. At Calvary, they have a fundraiser every year where the kids get to shop for presents for their family. There is little of real value in the "shoppe", but they absolutely love spending real money on real things for the ones they love. Since he’s in K3, this was Abe's first time and I felt a twinge of guilt as I sent in $20 expecting the teacher to help him navigate getting 5 gifts, especially since he has no concept of value.

He came home beaming with his tissue wrapped items and placed them carefully under the tree. His teacher told me today that he was very thoughtful choosing his gifts for each of us and was sad that he didn’t have enough money to get the more expensive item he picked out for me. He settled for something else and actually hasn’t told me what it is... yet. I love opening these trinkets on Christmas morning, knowing my kids chose them especially for me, and I will always treasure the memory of my sweet babies beautifully enjoying the blessing of giving. 2011.
