The Dornbush Effect
Journaling: We’ve coined a phrase “the Dornbush Effect”, in honor of this skater’s miraculous come from behind skates to land on the medal podium. In 2008 he was 12th after the short program, placed 3rd in the free skate and earned the pewter medal. He is the reason we take at least one photo of EVERY contestant! This year, 2011 in Greensboro, his rise wasn’t as spectacular: he was only 7th after the short, placed 1st in the free skate and earned the silver medal.
