Well, of course. What fun! When my little guy (who's 29 now) was about the age of this little one, I had a pea gravel play area in the back yard. It was so much fun for him, and it wasn't nearly as messy as sand to get off.

In the gravel, in the dirt, any place but where kids could possibly stay clean! No fun in that!
