While on vacation in Colorado, we had just had a conversation about being somewhat disappointed in the fact that we hadn't seen more wildlife - then we saw this beautiful creature!!! I'm sure elk are everywhere in Colorado (just like deer in Iowa) but we were so excited. She seemed oblivious to the crowd that gathered as she munched her way thru the park to the lake. It was fun to be part of her world for a few minutes!
