My mom around four with her shirley temple curls. She said they called them corn cob curls. They used rags to curl their hair. Like when women in the 50's would use bobby pins. In the 30's they would twist the hair and tie it with rags till it dried. i think my mom was a very pretty little girl. She was almost like an only child she had one sister who was 11 years older. She was raised by her dad because my grandma died when mom was about four months from turning 8. Grandma had mom later in life anyway she was 42 when she had her and 49 when she died of cancer.
